Bonus Episode: Mirrorball Movie Cowboys S1 E2: The Last Days of Disco (1998)
Tuesday May 27, 2025
Tuesday May 27, 2025
This special bonus episode is something Mulder and Stu (from the incredible Midnight Movie Cowboys podcast) concocted back in 2022. We're both unabashed Disco fans so we decided to start a new series of episodes that focused solely on Disco films and the music in them. We did three episodes and they were only available on the MMC YouTube page, until now. We decided to resurrect the series to talk about more Disco films and I thought that we should make the previous 3 episodes available as well. I have re-edited them a bit to add some music (something that wouldn't really fly on YouTube). This episode covers The Last Days of Disco (1998). The 3rd and last episode in Season 1 covers 54 (1998). We have already recorded Episode 1 of Season 2 in which we discuss Thank God it's Friday (1978) and it will be released after the Season 1 re-release, so in other words, there's plenty of Disco content coming your way so stay tuned. These episodes will also be available on the MMC feed and I believe the original video episodes are still on their YouTube channel as well. Enjoy!
***REMINDER*** We are now on YouTube! We've been hard at work creating funny highlight videos to help promote the show so please take a look, like, subscribe, etc. You won't be disappointed. Our channel can be found at WTM Studios. The Midnight Movie Cowboys YouTube page can be found HERE. You can also hear other great content from them on their podcast which can be found virtually anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Wednesday May 21, 2025
Wednesday May 21, 2025
Mulder and Wolfie welcome Zolly Becker back on the show to help kick off their focus on Movies From Their Youth with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991). We break it all down... or at least Bryan Adams, and the toy line. Usual targets abound, consisting of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Zolly's review of Sinners (2025), insight into how Zolly uses Twitter, and much more! 1 Costner film down, 2 to go. Next up, Waterworld (1995).

WTM Ep. 337: Top 10 Films of 2024
Wednesday May 14, 2025
Wednesday May 14, 2025
Note: Apologies for some minor audio issues towards the end of the episode. Not a huge problem but definitely noticeable.
We're back with our Top 10 favorite films from 2024. This is a bit of a hybrid/recently seen episode as well because Mulder discusses a movie he watched recently (Wrongfully Accused (1998)) that incensed him to no end and Wolfie completed the Movie Challenge for Jungle Fever (1991). Stay tuned for our next slate of episodes on Movies From Our Youth. This year's theme is Kevin Costner, so we will have episodes on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Waterworld (1995) and Field of Dreams (1989). Enjoy

I have re-edited them a bit to add some music (something that wouldn't really fly on YouTube). There were some audio issues with this first one, so apologies for that but the quality does get better with subsequent episodes. On this episode we discussed Boogie Nights (1997) as well as the short film it was based on called the Dirk Diggler Story. The next episode in this series will be released in a few weeks and it covers The Last Days of Disco (1998). Episode 3 covers 54 (1998). We have already recorded Episode 1 of the new season in which we discuss Thank God It's Friday (1978) and will be released after the Season 1 re-release, so in other words, there's plenty of Disco content coming your way so stay tuned. Mulder and Wolfie T (finally) finish off this year's focus on Minnesota Movies with a look at one of the classics, Purple Rain (1984). This was actually recorded about a month ago but I wasn't able to get it out before the big move, so apologies once again but soon we will be back to a normal(ish) release schedule.

Monday Feb 10, 2025
Monday Feb 10, 2025
WTM is back with Season Eleven! Mulder and Wolfie kick off the new year with a Minnesota Movie gem from 1995, Mallrats, and Zolly Becker is back once again to give us his unique perspective. Mallrats is a film about Nerd Culture (among other things) so be prepared for tangents on all things Nerdy including: Comic Books, Marvel/DC, Zolly's crusade against James Gunn and Warner Brothers, influencing the culture through X/Twitter manipulation and online discourse, Mall culture throughout the years, and much more! We will be back in a couple weeks with an episode on Purple Rain!

WTM is back to finish season 10, finally! Mulder and Wolfie T are joined by 1st time guests "Chola"(friend of Josh H) and her husband Eric to discuss one of their favorite Xmas Movies, Reindeer Games (2000). Besides breaking down this John Frankenheimer misfire, we also get into some tangents about a local actor, the film Money Train (1995), tattoos, the Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and much more. Apologies for our hiatus, but we're back and season 11 is nigh and we'll be back soon with a couple of Minnesota movies, Mallrats and Purple Rain!

WTM Ep. 331: HOUSE OF WAX (2005) With Zolly Becker!!
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Mulder and Wolfie T kick off their Horror Extravaganza with returning local legend, Zolly Becker! The theme for this year's Extravaganza is Horror Remakes, and for this episode, Mulder chose House of Wax (2005). It's virtually a remake in name only, however we do discuss the earlier iterations from 1933 and 1953, as well as some other films we believe to be the actual inspirations for H.O.W. '05. We also broaden the discussion to touch on other remakes from the late 90's to the late 2000's. This episode got a little crazy with the tangents but by and large, they usually came back around and connected in some way to House of Wax. In fact, we discovered how this much maligned and mostly forgotten remake changed the course of Zolly's life, forever. Find out how in this very special and very surreal episode of WTM: Watch This Movie.
